Subcutaneous Preadipocytes and Adipocytes

Zen-Bio provides the highest quality primary human cultured preadipocytes and adipocytes. Our cells have multiple applications in basic research, drug screening and development.

Visceral Preadipocytes and Adipocytes

To provide the most relevant systems for investigating obesity-related morbidities, Zen-Bio is offering visceral derived human preadipocytes and cultured adipocytes to the research community. Preadipocytes are isolated from omental, mesenteric, or perirenal adipose tissue and are tested for their ability to differentiate in culture to mature adipocytes. Preadipocytes are available cryopreserved or plated and mature adipocytes are available in a variety of plated formats.

 

Hepatocytes

Primary human hepatocytes are available cryopreserved. Cryopreserved cells are suitable for a variety of assays including induction, toxicity and drug metabolism. Both adherent and suspension cells are available.

Cells have been tested for performance in viability, ECOD, 7-HCG, and 7-HCS assays. Cells have tested negative for HIV-1, HIV-2, HTLV-1, HTLV-2, HbsAG, HbcAB, HCV, and RPR. Cells are tested for CMV some CMV positive lots are released for experiments.

Adult Stem Cells

Zen-Bio has immediate availability of stem cells derived from adult adipose tissue. These multipotent cells are isolated from a wide variety of patients and are capable of differentiating into adipocytes, osteoblasts, and chondrocytes.
All cells have been tested for the ability to differentiate into multiple cell types. Cells have tested negative for HIV-1, HIV-2, HTLC-1, HTLV-2, Hepatitis B, Hepatitis C and mycoplasma. Specially formulated media are available for maintenance and differentiation of our adult stem cells.

 

Skeletal Muscle

Cells are available cryopreserved (500,000 cells/vial). All cells have been tested for myotube differentiation.

Cells have tested negative for HIV-1, HIV-2, HTLC-1, HTLV-2, Hepatitis B, Hepatitis C and mycoplasma.

Specially formulated media are available for maintenance and differentiation of our adult skeletal muscle cells.

Human Dermal Fibroblasts

Cells are isolated from adult abdominal dermal explants and provided either cryopreserved or in a variety of plated formats. Dermal Fibroblasts are available from donors with and without Type 2 diabetes. Donor information regarding gender, age, and BMI are provided. Zen-Bio provides at least 1x106 cells in each cryopreserved vial of dermal fibroblasts.

Donor matched sets of dermal fibroblasts, keratinocytes, and preadipocytes (or cultured adipocytes) are also available.

All cells have been tested for fibroblast morphology and viability.
Cells have tested negative for HIV-1, HIV-2, HTLV-1, HTLV-2, Hepatitis B, Hepatitis C and mycoplasma.

Adult Human Keratinocytes

Zen-Bio epidermal keratinocytes are isolated from adult donor tissue and are provided at the earliest passage without the use of a murine feeder layer. Keratinocytes are available from donors of varying ages, genders, and diabetes status. Donor matched epidermal keratinocytes, dermal fibroblasts, and subcutaneous preadipocytes are available. Zen-Bio provides at least 1x106 cells in each cryopreserved vial of keratinocytes.
 

Human Mesothelial Cells

Mesothelial cells play pivotal roles in ovarian cancer metastasis, peritoneal dialysis, surgical adhesions, inflammatory response, and metabolic disease. These specialized epithelial cells form a single cell layer with a critical barrier function and provide a frictionless surface for organs and tissue to move without damage. We isolate peritoneal mesothelial cells from omental tissue biopsies with minimal propagation.

Mesothelial cells are available either cryopreserved or in culture. Ready to use medium is also available for use with our mesothelial cells.

3T3-L1 - Zen-Bio now offers cultured 3T3-L1 preadipocytes!

We now offer plated sub-confluent 3T3-L1 preadipocytes in 96 well format and media for proliferation, differentiation, maintenance of 3T3-L1 preadipocytes to adipocytes. We also offer media and reagent kits validated using 3T3-L1 and/or primary rodent preadipocytes and adipocytes. High quality control tested 3T3-L1 preadipocytes designed to work consistently using Zen-Bio's line of 3T3-L1 media.

3T3-L1 preadipocytes were seeded in 24 well plates and induced to differentiate 2 days post confluent using Zen Bio's DM-2-L1 for 3 days. Cells were then fed Zen Bio's AM-1-L1, with fresh media being added every other day. Phase contrast images were taken on day 7 (Panel A) and day 14 (Panel B) of differentiation using an Olympus IX60 microscope equipped with a STOP digital camera (20X magnification)
